Where You'll Find Me

I'm currently running my blog over at WritersAfterDark.net. I'd love it if you stopped by and hang for a bit! I'll return the favor, promise!

Running two blogs gets a bit difficult, so bear with me while I figure things out. In the meantime, if I could interest you in industry news, writing tips, and poking some fun at writerly problems, you'll find me here:

A to Z Challenge—S.K.-isms! I is for . . .

I is for Ish-aholic. Defined as obsession with “ish." Example:

Hi, my name is S.K. (sort-of-ish) and I’m an Ish-aholic. On occasional occasions I go right ahead and ish the end of a word. Like when I’m hungry-ish, tired-ish, or done-ish with my MS. It’s just an easier and faster way of saying I’m not too hungry but I could eat, or I’m a little tired but not enough to go to bed, or just a way to tell you I’ve made a whole lotta progress with my MS but I’m not content enough to say it’s finished. Who wants to hear all that? One tiny little addition to a word makes it short, sweet, and to the point. Therefore I like my ish . . . I know there is a joke in here somewhere, but we’ll leave it at that.

*S.K.’s original. Kind-of-ish.

  16. I beseech thee fair lady—end not these creative and supplant word games for if such sounds rest ye not on the innocent fragile brow of nature’s child shall we not endeavor this forlorn journey through the flaxen fields or gaze upon thee blessed azure heavens. ----oh yeah! Top that one LOL

  18. I enjoy it when "ish" is added to unusual words. Some YA writers do this very well. :)

  19. I'm rather-ish impressed with your post. Rather-ish meaning I don't want all this praise to go to your head, so I'm kinda hinting that you're brilliant, but not quite. Swelled head-ish and all-ish.
