Where You'll Find Me

I'm currently running my blog over at WritersAfterDark.net. I'd love it if you stopped by and hang for a bit! I'll return the favor, promise!

Running two blogs gets a bit difficult, so bear with me while I figure things out. In the meantime, if I could interest you in industry news, writing tips, and poking some fun at writerly problems, you'll find me here:

Tara Tyler: This is My Time!

Hi Guys,

So today is Guest Post time! Why? Well, apart from because I said so,  SIMULATION by Tara Tyler is out!!! You don't want to miss out on this one, trust me, this girl knows to intertwine amazing technology with lovable characters and insane action. I invited her over to tell us why THIS is her time and to share with you guys this amazing book!

Take it over, Tara!

Thanks so much for having me over, yet again, SK! You've helped me way above and beyond!

And if it weren't for friends I've met online, I probably wouldn't be an author. That's why my post is called...

This is My Time!

I was born at exactly the right time. I'm a Gen X, 80s kid. I came after the World Wars and the Depression, and just in time to experience the computer age and internet craze. I consider myself lucky to have so many modern conveniences. If I'd been born before indoor plumbing and a/c, I'd be a sad Sally!

I also look forward to telling my grandkids about the time before cell phones and internet and they'll look at me like I'm a crazy old lady (which I will be! ha!) And as we carry our little demonic devices that we've all become addicted to, we wonder how we ever survived without them. But we did. Remember pay phones? Take a dime, then a quarter, then a credit card when you go out... Looking back, that was living on the edge, but we had no idea!

So I'm happy with this time I've gotten to live in. I'm comfortable and wouldn't change a thing - probably too comfortable and my kids are downright spoiled! But I'm sure if I lived in a castle with chamber pots or on a farm in the old west, I would've been fine with that too - because I didn't know what I was missing.

Moral to this story - appreciate what you have.

Thanks again, SK! I'm so glad I have the internet to let me connect with friends like you. And one day we'll meet up the old-fashioned way, in person!

Umm, yeahhhhh, we will!!! :D

SIMULATION
by Tara Tyler
Release Date: Sept 14, 2015

In 2082, androids are an essential part of daily life. Some are helpful, some would make better toasters, and some are so human-like they're creepy. Back in Atlanta, Detective Cooper's latest client has him searching for her boyfriend who she thinks was replaced by a simulation, an illegal clone android. The guy also happens to be a popular new congressman.

As if the case wasn't frustrating enough, Cooper keeps crossing paths with his ex, FBI Agent Geri Harper who's looking for the same guy. As Cooper closes in, Geri is kidnapped. But when she resurfaces in Washington and goes on a killing spree, he knows it isn't her. Now under suspicion himself, Cooper must find the real Geri to prove her innocence, not to mention hunt down the powerful villain behind it all. Never a dull moment.

When Stalking an Author Pays Off

You know J.K. Rowling?
Of course you know her. She's my BFF (don't tell her, though, 'cause the surprise might shock her). I love her work, like millions and millions of others. The Harry Potter series is holy and no one should try prying it out of my hands.

I also love the Hunger Games series. Like LOVE. But but but . . . that one I might let go in order to hold on to this one along with the HP set:

That should tell you how obsessed I am with this series. So obsessed I got the balls . . . or uterus—since I'm female—to reach out to the author in question. You know, like any proper stalker, I hid it well so he had no clue I was one. I fooled him. And so far I've managed to continue to pull off the stalkerish tendencies . . . under the radar.

I deserve a medal, I must say.

You see, I've become friends with this Award Winning Author, enough so . . . that I made it into the series. Say what????? Exactly!!! It is an honor to be in a book where characters hold on to your little heart and keep you engaged through the apocalyptic place the world has become. It isn't just about "zombies" . . . if they're even that, or just about survival. It is about hope and love. And let me tell you, this third book in the series is a game changer.

You have to read it!
When I thought I couldn't become more obsessed,
Raymond Esposito totally blew my mind!

If nothing else (because it's my blog, I can make it about me o_O), you can read through book 3 and there . . . along with my daughter Natalia, you can find my REAL name. Although he called my girl-child Natalie, authors making up their own stuff, pfft. Sup wid dat?

But but but,
OMG Go read it! Go! Go! GO!

Check out the awesome Creepers saga book trailer
and tell me it doesn't look like a super cool movie.
Go ahead, tell me that, I dare you . . .

Raymond, congrats on releasing the third book in the saga.
Hurry up and get book four out . . . STAT!

The survivors—these warriors of an awful, dead world—are broken and divided. Pursued by the relentless Infected, they have fled into the wasteland to pay penance for all their foolish schemes: the schemes that have broken their once-strong bond, the plans that have cost them their friends, and the choices that they have paid for in blood.

But still the warriors refuse to surrender, and in that determination they rediscover the thing that has driven them throughout their journey—hope. The Infected, however, are not the only dangerous mysteries of this new world, and safety is no longer a place to be found; it is something they must fight for.

So they turn, once more, to face the Infected—to do battle for their lives and for the hope of all humankind. They will throw the last of their strength against the Creepers. They will stand together, willing to sacrifice all that is left of themselves as they again meet the infected horde. . . beneath the gathering storm.
