This book is so engaging and effective! Rather than a list of English words and their Spanish translations, the author presents language naturally in a way that allows ingrained learning through context. The illustrations are wonderful mixes of sweet drawings and actual animal photos. Extras after the story (such as a colors page) give opportunities for interaction, solidifying receptive and expressive language skills. What a wonderful way for children (or new-to-Spanish adults) to develop language skills while learning about the animal world! It's so refreshing to find a series that doesn't talk down to its audience and effectively educates in such a thoroughly entertaining way.
This has quickly become a favorite book in our house, and we can't wait for the rest of the series!
